World of Warships Closed Beta Test Ahoy!

Ahoy, Captains! The World of Warships Closed Beta Test is nearly ready to depart. On March 12, players will be able to take the helm of iconic vessels and battle for naval supremacy. Applications open on the same day: Europe at 11:00 CET, North America at 11:00 PST, and Asia at 17:00 SGT. This Closed Beta lets players experience intense warfare and offer their feedback to the development team.

Five original maps await prospective captains, ranging from arctic oceans to tropical archipelagos to dangerous coasts. There are 50 U.S. and Japanese warships available for players to test their tactical prowess, split across four classes.

Cruisers are nimble vessels effective against enemy destroyers and great even when going up against ships of identical class. Japanese battleships are well armored and heavy-hitting, allowing players both to deal damage and protect their allies. Destroyers are a captain’s most maneuverable vessel; they can scout, support teammates, and fire deadly torpedoes. American aircraft carriers provide reconnaissance and fearsome attacks, perfect for the more tactical player.

Crews (represented by warships commanders) play an integral role in World of Warships. When a Commander progresses in level, they gain points that can be spent on a variety of skills across numerous ranks and categories. Players can tailor skills to fit their style and get the most out of a Commander.

To bring a vessel up to code there are Modernizations available. Modernizations let players develop a ship’s combat ability, like a weapon’s durability or ship’s resilience to fire and flooding.

And for those Captains that want to join forces to conquer the competition, Divisions mode lets up to three players work together.

In the future, World of Warships will add Japanese aircraft carriers and U.S. battleships to its fleet. Achievements for many accomplishments in battle as well as customization options will also be introduced to the game.
