An Australian Legend Returns Home

The Australian Cruiser tank Mark 1 (AC1) has made its final trip home from Texas, U.S.A. to the Australian Armor & Artillery Museum in Cairns—all thanks to Wargaming! The tank itself was originally part of Jacques Littlefield’s private collection, and now that it’s been scrubbed and given a new coat of paint, the legendary Sentinel will soon be ready for the public.

The Sentinel, or Australian Cruiser tank Mark 1 (AC1) as it is also known, was Australia’s only mass-produced tank during World War II. Just seven of the Austr.Cruiser remain, meaning people have the chance to discover a real piece of history.

If the Sentinel sounds familiar to some of you, that’s because World of Tanks Blitz players have already had the chance to command this legend. World of Tanks (PC) and World of Tanks Blitz players can expect to get their hands on this rare tank in the very near future.

Bringing history alive and making it easily accessible is an endeavor Wargaming is passionate about. We’ve been involved in great projects like the Dornier Do 17 salvation and the Alaskan-Siberian Air Route commemorative re-creation. Just last year, Wargaming released its tank battle re-enactment video in 360-degree format, putting the viewer right in the middle of a 1941 tank battle with tanks, infantry, artillery and even warplanes.
