Wargaming Data Warehouse is looking for an experienced Backend Developer to help us maintain, develop, and scale our internal Data Management platform, built on top of the open-source DataHub solution. As the primary backend engineer, you will have significant autonomy and full ownership over the platform, taking on a leadership role in the design, development, and deployment of new features.

This role is critical to the success of our organization as we continue to leverage data to drive innovation and enhance AI adoption across the organization. You will work collaborate closely with stakeholders across the organization to understand their needs and translate them into scalable, robust technical solutions.

Reports to

  • Lead Data Steward

What will you do?

  • Own the design and architecture of our Data Management platform, ensuring it meets the evolving needs of the business.
  • Design and develop new features, including API services using Golang.
  • Optimize data ingestion, processing, and serving layers, ensuring smooth data flow and efficient resource usage.
  • Maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating deployments where possible.
  • Document and communicate the platform's technical details, ensuring that both technical and non-technical stakeholders understand how it works.
  • Contribute to other data-focused internal applications.

What are we looking for?

  • 3+ years of professional experience in software development
  • Strong experience with containerization (Docker, Swarm)
  • Proficiency in Golang and Python
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Git
  • Proficiency with databases like PostgreSQL or MySQL and knowledge of Elasticsearch for data indexing
  • Ability to work autonomously and take ownership of the entire backend development lifecycle—from design to production
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive projects to completion with minimal supervision
  • Fluency in English 

What additional skills will help you stand out?

  • Experience with GraphQL APIs
  • Hands-on experience with Nginx
  • Experience with SQL, Snowflake, Big Data ecosystem
  • Familiarity with Java and Spring (Boot) framework for backend development
  • Prior experience with DataHub or similar data cataloging solutions
  • A portfolio of projects demonstrating your skills and experience

Work mode

  • The candidate can work onsite, hybrid, or fully remotely within any country where WG has a legal entity.
The salary range for this role in Vilnius is EUR 5.600 - 6.600 monthly gross.
