Marks of Excellence Inbound for Console Tankers

Now console tankers can show off their battle prowess by achieving Marks of Excellence, a new player performance recognition system for World of Tanks on console. These new marks are reserved for vehicles Tier 5 and higher, and players are rewarded them based on three factors:

  • One mark awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 65% of players in a particular tank
  • Two marks awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 85% of players in a particular tank
  • Three marks awarded for averaging more damage and assist damage than the top 90% of players in a particular tank

Players will really have to step up their game if they want to be part of the World of Tanks on console elite. So hit the battlefield and prove to the rest of the world that you’re the master of the IS-3, Cromwell—or any other armored warrior out there for that matter!

Five new tanks will also be rolling out with update 2.1: three from Germany and two from the U.S.S.R. The Tier 3 medium Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A had a decent top gun for its tier and deals a high amount of alpha damage—not to mention that its stock gun’s rate of fire rivals that of the Matildas. The Tier 4 medium Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. D is superior in almost every aspect to the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. A, had improved armor, and has a top gun capable of penetrating the armor of the British Matilda. Rounding of the German additions, the Tier 5 Pz.Kpfw. IV has been updated to the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. H, which has great versatility, and its armor can help protect against pesky HE shells.

Moving on to the U.S.S.R., the Tier 6 KV-85 has strong turret armor, decent maneuverability, and has good gun choices in the 100 mm and the 122 mm. Finally, the Tier 6 KV-1S has been updated to the Tier 5 KV-1S. This tank is the most mobile of the Tier 5 heavies, deft at angling its armor, and perfect for “peek-a-boo” tactics.
