Senior 3D Character Artist (World of Tanks Console)

Job Overview

Wargaming is looking for an experienced Senior 3D Character Artist to join the World of Tanks Modern Armor team. In this role, you'll create high-quality, realistic character assets for a live AAA console game, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver visually compelling art and technically optimized content.

What will you do?

• Create high-quality, game-ready 3D characters in a realistic art style, from sculpting to final in-game assets

• Produce high-poly and low-poly models, UVs, textures, and materials that meet artistic and technical requirements

• Collaborate closely with Concept Artists, Technical Artists, Animators, and other disciplines to deliver visually compelling character assets

• Maintain a high level of visual quality and ensure assets meet performance budgets and production standards

• Review and provide constructive feedback on character assets created by other artists

• Contribute to the improvement of character creation pipelines, workflows, and technical processes

• Troubleshoot asset-related issues and optimize character models for console platforms

• Manage collaboration with the outsourced team, including task assignment, progress tracking, and providing feedback

What are we looking for?

• 4+ years of professional experience creating 3D characters for games, with a focus on realistic style

• Strong skills in high-poly and low-poly modeling, retopology, UV mapping, baking, and optimization

• Proficiency with industry-standard tools such as Blender, Maya, ZBrush, and Substance Painter

• Good understanding of anatomy, realistic forms, and PBR workflows

• Understanding of animation-ready topology and technical requirements for game characters

• Experience using version control systems such as Perforce or SVN

• Advanced English (B2) or higher, as all day-to-day communication within the team is conducted in English

What would we like to see in your portfolio?

• We'd love to see a portfolio focused on realistic or semi realistic 3D character art, with military-themed work being a strong plus

Work mode

• Onsite or hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office) 

• Please note: this position is open in Serbia, Lithuania, and Cyprus. We do not provide support with work authorization or immigration paperwork. At the time of application, you must already have the legal right to work in one of these locations. The only exception is Belgrade, where we can provide support in certain cases
