Here at Wargaming, we always love to hear the experiences of not only our interns but also our mentors as well. They play a huge role in the development of our interns and the success of our program, and we are thankful for their efforts.
Today, we are delighted to hear from two of our mentors, Alexander Yatsukevich and Pavel Grebennikov on their experiences and thoughts on the program.
Alexander Yatsukevich
In my experience, WG Forge is not only an opportunity to kickstart your career with a large gaming company, but also an opportunity to find friends and people with common interests.
The program is an opportunity to share your knowledge and experience with others, and constantly learn new things.
A program mentor is not only a person with expertise in their field, but also a person who strives to develop this field and form a community of professionals. This is what I love about my role.
The training is based on a sequence of theoretical and practical classes, and the practical side is supervised by a mentor, so that the theory is consolidated better and faster. I try not to directly answer all the questions that are asked by the interns but give them the right direction so they can find the answer themselves.
The WG Forge program provides students a great opportunity to launch their career in the gaming industry, and I have found that it gives them a real experience, unlike some other programs.

Pavel Grebennikov
I actually started my WG Forge life as a VFX intern and after the program I was delighted to be offered a full-time job with Wargaming.
When I was asked to be a mentor, I was extremely happy to share my knowledge with the current interns. I know how important it is for them to have a great environment where they can start their career.
I gave a number of theoretical training classes on topics such as fluid simulations. During these classes I always tried to give prepared scenes of how the simulations worked with different parameters so that the interns could see it in action.
This style meant that the students were immersed in a very complex topic in a clear and simple way. I was always available to be contacted to help them solve any issues.
For students, WG Forge provides an opportunity to quickly improve their skills and learn the behind-the-scenes of production in an active project. It also allows you to meet like-minded individuals and people who are passionate about their work.
Do not hesitate and try to apply for the areas you are interested in, it is a good opportunity for personal development and to learn from some of the most talented people in the industry. You won’t regret it.
