Staying at the Cutting Edge of Gaming Peripherals with Razer

For Wargaming, creating a great experience doesn’t stop with our titles; it’s about providing a complete playing environment so that you can get the most out of your games. A natural extension for any of our titles is having the peripherals to go with it, and to do that you need to partner with market leaders to get the best results.

This is where Razer helped out. Collaborating with an industry giant in entertainment devices and software allowed Wargaming to bring some unique flair to peripherals, kit out gaming stations, and offer some great prizes to our fans. The partnership began a few years ago at gamescom, where we teamed up to outfit our gaming stations and give away some awesome goodies to our fans.

It was natural to focus on eSports because that’s where gaming peripherals are tried and tested, and an arena where only the strong can survive. When you’re right in there with the action, your reflexes are on a knife edge; every sound and every click mean the difference between a win and a loss for you and your team. In situations like this, there’s no room for compromise and it’s Wargaming and Razer’s mission to give players the best tools so that they can stay on top.

With this in mind, the partnership continued to grow, and in 2014, World of Tanks and Razer collaborated to release some cool branded peripherals just in time for the WGL 2014 Grand Finals. The masterminds in our art department worked with Razer to unveil the World of Tanks Razer DeathAdder mouse and Goliathus Soft Gaming Mouse Mat so you could play in style. The first 20,000 units of both products also included in-game bonus codes for World of Tanks, featuring the exclusive Pz.Kpfw. IV Hydraulic Tank, only available to World of Tanks Razer DeathAdder users in its unique white packaging.

What was really great about this collaboration was the ability to unify our designs across the globe. More often than not you may find that certain designs never reach further than one region, but working with Razer allowed us to design a range of products that were the same across all regions, from Europe to Asia.

A little later in the year, Razer released the custom-designed headset for World of Tanks, dubbed the Kraken Pro, that rounded off your World of Tanks experience—all you need now is the tank. Along with the headset, you could also get your hands on some Gold and week’s Premium to put your new hardware to the test.

And thanks to both Wargaming and Razer’s dedication to eSports, you can find Odem Mortis and SIMP Gaming—two of the tank squads featured at the Wargaming.net League 2014 Grand Finals—as a part of Team Razer. Not to mention the other teams like eLevate, PVP Super Friends, and Reforn Gaming from all corners of the globe who compete in the WGL.

Speaking of the Grand Finals, Razer will be sponsoring the hotly anticipated 2015 Grand Finals, taking place in Warsaw, Poland, just like they did last year. In 2014, fans could net themselves prizes like branded World of Tanks gear and promo codes while they watched the best two teams from Europe and North America turn each other in to scrap. You can look forward to the same this year, so get ready for some fast and furious action. If you’re lucky, we may even have a few more announcements for Razer and Wargaming, too.
