The company’s in-house center dedicated to employee assessment and growth earned the jury’s praise
Wargaming took first and third place in the Global category at the prestigious HR-Brand 2017 Awards, for Belarus and Ukraine, respectively. To earn a nomination, projects must have been implemented in Belarus (or Ukraine) and at least in one more country.
The company was awarded for their development of an in-house center dedicated to the assessment and growth of Wargaming employees. The center is focused on mitigating risks related to hiring decisions, assigning specialists to managerial positions and performing assessments to set development goals and education plans for managers.
The team involved in the center has been trained and certified by leading providers in the performance evaluation field. Over the year, they worked with more than 300 specialists, of which 65 candidates were evaluated for managerial positions, and over 235 managers were provided with individual development plans. Thanks to the center's activities, the most suitable candidates were selected and approved for 35 managerial positions.
We are proud to have succeeded in growing internal expertise in the employee assessment field and setting unified principles for the development of the company's management staff,” says Ekaterina Dolgova, Head of HR & Chief of Staff, Global Development. “90% of managers appointed based on the evaluation now demonstrate high performance, which means we’ve done a good job.
This is the second time we received an HR-Brand award. In 2014, Let’s Expand, the project by the Wargaming Minsk-based development studio, also took first place in the Global category. And back in 2013, we won in IT HR Brand and Grand Prix for Progress in IT categories at the IT Awards (Belarus),” says Olga Lavrentieva, Employer Brand Manager. “For us, participation and victory in prestigious competitions is not a goal in itself. But the appreciation we get from a qualified jury proves that we keep moving in the right direction and choose really innovative tools and projects to work with personnel.
HR-Brand is an annual award which gathers top-notch professionals to get an insight into current trends and effective ideas in HR, as well as studies HR tools used by leading companies throughout the year. The event is held each year in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Belarus.
