World of Tanks Blitz Partners with MMA Fighter Aaron Pico

The American MMA featherweight takes to the cage this weekend at Bellator 214

World of Tanks Blitz, the free-to-play, team-based mobile MMO action game that puts players in tanks and the heat of combat, is proud to announce their new ambassador, the MMA fighter Aaron Pico. The tank shooter, which has over 100m downloads globally, will be right behind featherweight Pico as he takes on fellow American, Henry Corrales, at Bellator 214 at The Forum in Inglewood, California this weekend.

World of Tanks Blitz and the team will be supporting Pico in the fight and the modern-age Spartan will be taking to the cage in specially branded shorts, featuring the iconic Blitz shield. With ties to the military, Aaron saw it as a great way of paying respect to his family.

“My great grandpa was a tanker. So once the World of Tanks Blitz guys reached out to me, I was curious about the game,” says Aaron Pico. “I played some battles and since then, it’s got me hooked! It’s a fun game which isn’t just about sheer power, but a well-thought-out strategy. Just like in MMA, simply hitting your opponent may just be a waste of your energy. You need to pick the right moments, know his weak spots, take the chance and enjoy the victory.”

Mixed Martial Arts and World of Tanks Blitz certainly share more paths than most would think and the same is true for Pico and the typical World of Tanks Blitz player.

“Aaron is young, ambitions, he perfectly fits the World of Tanks Blitz player profile. We admire his fighting style, his temper and the way he carries himself in the cage,” states Thaine Lyman, General Manager, Wargaming Mobile. “When we watched some of his interviews, we knew that he was a right fit for our game.”
