Videogame giant Wargaming presents its latest collaboration with artist Olga Krohicheva
Wargaming has been collaborating with different artists through its Artist Signature Label initiative launched during the Tokyo Games Show in 2016.The program looks to support the Arts in special ways, working with artists or musicians for unique content created by them to be included in the mobile version of Wargaming’s popular game World of Tanks Blitz.
Olga Krohicheva, a female artist from Russia who´s inspiration struck while playing World of Tanks Blitz. The series of 6 paintings called “I+I = III or I” is based on the artists’ interpretation between the virtual and real worlds and how they are merged into one reality, as players ´meet´each other behind screens, and form friendships and rivalries, join in groups (clans) and celebrate their victories or share their disappointments after their virtual losses.
Olga Krohicheva is the most recent artist to participate in the program, joining well-known Japanese artist Kunio Okawara who contributed the specially designed O-47 tank introduced into the game last year, as well as musical group Anacondaz (a popular Russian band) who left its mark with an exclusive musical composition included in the soundtrack.
The goal of Wargaming’s Artist Signature Label program is close collaboration between Wargaming and each participating artist, resulting in unique and memorable works of art in a variety of media. Wargaming’s ability to incorporate the final works of art into its games creates an additional connection between artists and players while helping promote each artist to Wargaming’s enormous audience.
The expo opened this past weekend in the Venice Biennale 2017 and will be open to the public for six months. World of Tanks Blitz players will be able to enjoy “Opposition,” the piece she has dedicated to World of Tanks Blitz, in game as it will be included in one of the hangers in-game.
