World of Warplanes Pay Tribute to Iron Maiden’s Replica Spitfire in Game

The Warplanes Diaries Series with lead singer & pilot Bruce Dickinson reaches its conclusion with the Supermarine Spitfire

With the UK leg of Iron Maiden’s The Legacy of the Beast European Tour in full swing and gaining rave reviews, the partnership between the British legends and World of Warplanes is further evolving. To complement the scaled replica Spitfire that appears onstage during the opening number, Aces High, players will be able to earn this specific aircraft (AA 853) in-game.

“World of Warplanes and Iron Maiden share a passion; we are both the ultimate proponents of heavy metal! Ours involves high speed aircraft, theirs power and musical dexterity.” states Al King, Product Marketing Director of World of Warplanes. “To have the opportunity to work with the Maiden Team and bring such a key piece of The Legacy of the Beast Tour to life is a fantastic opportunity & responsibility and one we relish.”

From August 6 to August 13, players will be able to take on a mission marathon, which will ultimately award them with the Supermarine Spitfire Mk Vb IM. This unique warbird has a very interesting and iconic pilot, Iron Maiden’s own mascot, Eddie. Eagle-eyed players will also notice more allusions to Iron Maiden throughout their hangar.

The mission marathon consists of five stages to earn the Iron Maiden Spitfire and its unique pilot. Both are equally as ready to take to the skies and set course for battle. Chocks away!

An avid enthusiast of military aviation, pilot, and supporter of World of Warplanes’ dedication to historical accuracy, Iron Maiden singer Bruce Dickinson will host the final episodes of “The Bruce Dickinson Warplanes Diaries” this month, with the story of the Supermarine Spitfire debuting on August 3 across all official Wargaming.net channels and YouTube. Previously, this series of educational videos has explored such iconic warplanes, such as the Flying Fortress, Hawker Hurricane, and Messerschmitt Bf 109.
